- Wait for the glass top to cool before cleaning, to prevent possible burn injuries.- Shake bottle well; lest you not get as much scrubbing grit when you squirt it on the dirt.
- Apply liberally. We clean one burner at a time and apply the most cleaner to the worst looking dirty spots.
- Allow tough stains to soak in this cleaner for several minutes before scrubbing.
- Scrub, scrub, and scrub some more, with small-circle motions over top of and around the heater area. Try a razor blade for those rare, burned-on stains that this product cannot buff away.
- Wipe/rinse with a sopping wet rag. It may take several times of this to completely get up the polish.
- Then, wipe with a run-out, but damp warm-water cloth in order to pick up any remaining polish grit.
- Dry and buff with a clean paper towel for best, most new-looking shine.
- Repeat daily on really tough food spills until clean.
Pros
- Simple to use. You just apply, scrub, rinse, and dry. See below for more details.- Soft, quiet aroma. Not pungent. Has a gentle, non-overpowering, and non-persistent smell. So you need not open windows or turn on the hood exhaust fan above the stove while cleaning your stove. This scent disappears within a few minutes of rinsing away the cleaner.
- Very little scratching. We’ve never scratched any stove surface with this Weiman glass top stove care product. The ultra-fine gritty, creamy texture easily spreads evenly and wipes up with a clean, damp cloth. It rinses thoroughly and quickly and does not mar the glass cooktop, even when heavily scrubbing it.
- Can polish with most any soft cloth or sponge. Works equally well when applied with a rag as when rubbed on with a sponge. We prefer the rag though, as rags tend to be cheaper to come by than sponges. But regardless of what sponge or cloth you scrub with, you’ll get a shiny, smooth, and squeaky clean glass top surface left behind.
- Easily rinsed completely away. Wipes away with clean water completely, and quickly. Leaves no smears, streaks, or cleanser powders behind.
- Economical, affordable, and inexpensive. This stovetop polish is priced reasonably. It can completely clean a typical glass top stove fifteen to thirty times before it’s time to buy a new bottle.
- Recommended for popular electric stove brands. Weiman glass top cleaner is suggested for Thermador, Frigidaire, Whirlpool, and GE ceramic stovetops.
- Cleans old-style burner pans too. A cleaner intended for delicate, easily scratched surfaces, not only is this cleaner effective, but gentle as well. It can even clean the burner pans and inside surfaces of non-flat electric burner stoves.
- Not harsh and environmentally friendly. We’ve never experienced any skin, nose, or eye irritation while scrubbing with this product. In fact, this Weiman cooktop cleaner has been recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency for its “safer chemistry” formulation, which gives priority to using environmentally safer chemicals. Only trace amounts of phosphorus are noted.
Cons
- Requires lots of elbow grease. We’ve found this polish and stovetop cleaner to be pretty ineffective at quickly removing burned on ground beef grease from our glass top cooking surfaces. So, with a mess like this, we had to scrub many times over a week or more; once after each burner use where the mess was. The repeated heating and cooling of subsequent uses seems to work better at removing burned on beef grease than does this cleaner.- Nothing quick or speedy about this cleaner. This product may, in fact, be too gentle. Perhaps the addition of a little acid would shorten stovetop cleaning times.
- Harder to find in stores. We’ve only spotted this Weiman product in larger grocery and department stores and home centers.

- Yes, for more difficult residues apply the product to the area and cover it with saran/plastic wrap and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. After this time remove the covering and use a soft cloth to buff the product into the surface.
Be sure to use the recommended a scrubbing pad that is manufactured for the cooktop surface.
Will a sponge with a rough side work ok?
- No, please do not use a sponge with a rough side with Weiman Glass Cleaner or any other cleaner on a glass stove top. You will damage the glass top. First, use a wet paper towel or sponge to wipe off the mess. Second - put on the Weiman liquid and spread it to coat the glass and let it dry to a haze. Third-with the soft side of the paper towel rub and rub to take away any stains. Last- with a damp paper towel remove the rest of the haze and with a clean, soft paper towel rub gently to see the beautiful and clean shine! Once, you get to do it, you will breeze through! Does this work on interior oven glass?
- We have not completed testing for this particular surface. So, we currently cannot recommend using it on the interior of the oven glass door.
What else do I need to purchase besides this to keep cooktop like new?
- I sometimes need a razor blade if anything is stuck on the cooktop, but I just usually only need the pads and cleaner. This product will keep your cooktop looking like new for a long time.
Can this be used on a gas range stove-top?
- I am not sure. It says it is for Glass Cook Tops. It does a wonderful job on our Maytag stove which has a glass top. Sorry I couldn't help.
